How to tell whether a tap-mounted filter will fit your tap
A simple check you can do in under a minute, before you order anything.

Look at the end of the spout
Most kitchen taps have a small removable insert at the tip called an aerator. If it unscrews, there is a thread underneath, and that thread is what a tap-mounted filter attaches to.
If nothing unscrews, or the spout end is square, flat-faced or moulded in one piece, a tap-mounted filter is unlikely to fit.
Taps that usually do not work
Pull-out spray taps, where the head detaches on a hose.
Boiling-water and instant-hot taps.
Taps with a fixed decorative end that cannot be unscrewed.
Measure before you buy
Once the aerator is out, measure the internal or external diameter of the thread with a ruler. Most household taps fall into a small number of common sizes, which is why adapter kits exist.
