Product development stage — our first water filtration system is in development

Maintenance guide

When should a water filter cartridge be replaced?

How replacement intervals are set, and the signs that usually come first.

Intervals are estimates, not guarantees

Manufacturers publish an interval based on an assumed volume of water and typical supply conditions. Real households vary a great deal, so treat any published figure as a starting point.

Heavier use, or water carrying more sediment, shortens the useful life of a cartridge.

Signs it is due

Noticeably slower flow while filtering.

A return of the taste or smell you originally wanted to change.

The interval on the packaging has passed, even if nothing seems different.

Where EcoVeya stands

We have not published a replacement interval for our own cartridge, because we do not yet have one supported by testing. When we do, it will be stated with the testing behind it.
